How to commission a quilt

This is the joy of working with a real craftsperson: the conversation helps create a unique piece, special to you, that will be treasured for generations.

Step 1

Think about what you would love to include in your quilt - an important colour, a motif you love, a certain mood. What size would be ideal? It doesn’t have to be too specific - this is the ideas stage.

Step 2

Contact Rachel. This is the fun bit where you can chat through your ideas and Rachel will work with you to sketch a vision for your quilt. Together you will explore options that work well technically as well as being a unique expression of your ideas.

Step 3

After deciding on a final design, your future quilt is booked into Rachel's work schedule. Quilts require precision and care — a typical quilt takes around 3 months to complete.
